SELEE® Corporation invented the concept of using ceramic foam as a filter media for molten aluminum. We are at the forefront of developments in the aluminum filtration, melt treatment and molten metal transfer processes.

Ceramic foam filters of SELEE® structure are available in sizes from 225mm to 660mm (9 inches to 26 inches) square and a wide range of pore sizes.

CERAMIC FOAM FILTERS

The Ceramic Foam Filter (CFF) of SELEE® structure was the first cost-effective media to remove non-metallic inclusions from molten aluminum.

Introduced by SELEE® in the mid-1970s, and redeveloped with CS-W®, the SELEE® Ceramic Foam Filter continues to be the standard for aluminum filtration in cast houses all over the world.

As the stream of molten aluminum alloy travels through the tortuous path of the filter, non-metallic inclusions are captured inside the ceramic structure.

The filtered metal is significantly cleaner. Cleaner metal results in higher quality castings, less scrap, and fewer inclusion defects, all of which contribute to bottom line profit.
